In April 2014 we decided to take our catering in house with the support of Catering Management Consultants (CMC). Managing our own catering allows us, as a whole school community, to decide what food we would like on the menu and who we purchase our supplies from. However, we still have to adhere to the guidelines regarding food served in schools that are set out by the Government.
In December 2014, new allergen legislation has come into force, and from January 2015 the new Food Standards will be mandatory. This has meant that we have had to review our menus in order to ensure that they are compliant with the changes. CMC have trained our catering staff to be aware of the changes to the legislation and competent at meeting the requirements.
