History & Geography
Geography and History learning takes place within the context of our termly topics (new for 2018-19), where our spiralling (topic) curriculum seeks to ensure valuable links are being made, and key subject-specific skills being built upon, year upon year. Knowledge organisers are also being developed so children have a sound base of factual learning at the end of each unit. Each topic is further enhanced by a visit (this could be an expert coming into school) or trip that helps bring the subject to life for our children.
The majority of Art and Design & Technology is also delivered within a topic context, while cross-curricular links are made to core subjects (notably English) and other foundation subjects (such as Computing and PSHE) when purposeful, as this can reinforce and develop learning in both areas.
