Diversity Is Our Strength & Together We Succeed

Pupil Voice

Pupil voice is important to us as it allows us to understand the children’s thoughts about their learning, what is going well, and what we can do to further support the children of Welford.

In May Mrs Bradbury set our children and families a bank holiday challenge to answer 3 questions:

  • What makes us Welford?
  • What makes our school special? How do we stand out from the crowd?
  • Why should a parent / carer choose Welford for their child?

Shared above are the answers – it is clear that children and families of Welford all recognise our drive to make our broad curriculum learning inclusive, ensuring that all children feel valued, make progress and are valued members our school community.

Each week we celebrate children who have gone above and beyond in their learning. In June 2026 we introduced a new way of celebrating children’s achievements during the week…lunch with the leadership team. A special table is laid, with special plates, cups, and bowls we even have sugar free squash! This allows the leadership team time to celebrate children’s achievements and talk over lunch to gather a deeper understanding of their views to ensure we continue to thrive as a school. One child taking part expressed how it is great not only to spend time with the leadership team, but also the other children who have gone above and beyond.

As part of our continuing school development we look forward to sharing children’s voice so please keep an eye open for our updates.
